Objectives:

  • To prepare for and adapt to risks of disasters.
  • To ensure that communities in risk exposed areas are less vulnerable to social and economic consequences of disasters  and climate change.

Goal: Strengthening     communities’ capacity on  natural resources management(NRM) and Livelihood.

Duration: 2019 – 2020 (1 year)

Goal: To provide evidence that will support MCC to design demand driven interventions and enable woman and youth to take full advantage of Lesotho compact opportunies.

Objectives

  • To determine how various MCC instruments can be shaped to support community based groupings membership to transit in entrepreneurship
  • To Explore how technological innovation can improve SGs operational efficiency and access to market information.
  •  To explore how Mobile Money  and other digital products can benefits  SGs and members.

Target Group: Community Support Group of woman and youth.

Funder: Millennium Challenge Cooperation(MCC)

Operating Areas: Mokhotlong and Leribe (Hlotse)

Duration: 2021 – 2022 (1 year)

Goal: Sustainable management of land and water resources in Lesotho. Aimed at combating land degradation and the depletion of water catchment in the country.

Target Group: Agricultural producers (commercial , subsistence and livestock farmers).

Funder: Sub granted by CRS through GIZ 

Operating Areas: Mokhotlong, Leribe, Seate,Menoaneng and Kota CC

Duration: 2015 – 2017, 2017 – 2018 and 2021 – 2022

Goal: Attain and maintain HIV epidemic control among KPS (FSWs,PWIDs).

Objectives:

  • Improve program management (including health information systems [HIS] and human resources for health [HRH]) and financial systems to ensure attainment and maintenance of epidemic control.
  • Support the transition of prime funding and implementation to capable local  partners to meet the PEPFAR goal of 70% of funding to local partners by 2030.

Target Group: Key Population Females sex Workers (FSWs)

Funder: Population services international / UAID and AIDS FREE

Duration: 2017 – 2018 (2 years)

Goal:T0 reduce incidences of early and forced marriages.

Objectives: 

  • To empower at least 80% girls at risk for early marriages and married girls with information, skills and support networks activities.
  • To mobilize and educate at least 60% parents, guardians, caretakers, religious and traditional leaders and community members.
  • To encourage 65% girls with accessibility of quality formal education.
  • To provide economic support/skills to at least 80% girls and their families.

Goal: To prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among Orphas and Vulnerable Children and Adolescents and Young Women (AGYW) in Lesotho.

Objectives: To provide services  for HIV prevention, support and  GBV advocacy, prevention and response for children of female sex workers.

Target Group: Orphans and Vulnerable Children Adolescence ants Young Woman of female sex workers.

Funder:  USAID Through Baylor College of Medicine Childrens Foundation – Lesotho.

Operating Areas: Maseru,  Berea, Leribe and Botha-Bothe

Duration: 2022 – 2024 (2 years)

Goal: To support integration of TB/HIV/SRH services for Key populations (FSW, MSM, IDU) in order to achieve and maintain epidemic control through strategic technical assistance. And to improve TB/HIV/SRH prevention, case finding, care and treatment programing.

Objectives: 

  • To promote HIV prevention, care, and treatment services for FSW, MSM, and IDU.
  • Scale up SRH services provided to Female sex workers, MSM, and IDU.

CARE FOR BASOTHO

Care for Basotho (CBA) is a non-political and independent local NGO that was established and registered 2014 under the Societies Act of 1966. CBA seeks to bring about hope, dignity and social security through sustainable and long-lasting changes in the lives of most vulnerable and marginalized Basotho in poorest communities. CBA focus will be securing sustainable impact in the human condition and social position of poor men, women and children in under-served communities. The Association serves as a catalyst of change by supporting primary health care, economic empowerment, food security, natural resource management and gender equality to address some of the most pressing needs and improve the livelihoods and wellbeing of the poor and marginalized communities in Lesotho.
